The Grand Indiana Auto Tour 2001 will make its second-to-last stop in North Manchester this year during the town’s annual festival, FunFest. According to a letter from the Indiana Department of Motor Vehicles, the tour consists of 25 fully restored vintage automobiles and their owners on a 500-mile, three-day route from Evansville to Auburn “to honor the state’s rich automotive history and to pay homage to a tradition of manufacturing excellence that has endured in Indiana for more than a century.”

Rick Parker, a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army and stationed in England, will be a member of the Royal Escort for the Bears and Cowboys prior to Sunday’s game in Wembley Stadium. Parker was one of two U.S. Army representatives chosen for the military honor guard. He will be carrying a U.S. flag. The son of the late Charles Parker and stepson of Susanne Parker, Rick Parker has been stationed in England four years, doing computer repair work. He grew up in Warsaw and graduated from Wawasee High School. His wife and sons are living in England with him.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Cochran left for Washington, D.C., recently following a brief visit with their sons-in-law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. John Irwin, of Burket, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Barber, of Beaver Dam. The Cochrans also attended the state convention of World War I veterans.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Foy and 11-month-old daughter, Janet Ann, have returned to their home in Warsaw, after a 15-day tour of southern states. During the trip, Mr. Foy attended the annual Elks national convention at Miami Beach.

Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Weiss and daughters, June and Anne, of Burket, and Mr. and Mrs. John Dickey of Elkhart are spending a few days in the southern part of the state where they are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Weiss of Fort Branch. On their return trip they plan to visit the Shades and Turkey Run.
