Warsaw's Ed Likens hit the second hole-in-one of his career recently at Rozella Ford. Likens used a 5-wood to ace the 205-yard par 3 No. 11. Ed Huffer, Susie Haywood and Max Mollenhour witnessed the event.

Wayne Schope of Warsaw hit a hole-in-one at Raccoon Run's hole No. 3 Todd Tanner and Chuck Dorgan witnessed the event.

The Bourbon Summerfest cutie contest winners were: queen and king, Amber Harmon, 4, daughter of Barry and Anje Harmon, Atwood, and Matt Wanemacher, 5, son of Kim and Jim Wanemacher, Bourbon; princess and prince, Katie Winkle, 4, daughter of Joe Winkle and Kathy Winkle, Plymouth, and Clint Dennie, 3, son of Brenda and Mike Dennie, Bourbon; first runnersup, Crystal Feldman, 3, daughter of Russell and Audrey Feldman, Bourbon, and Brandon Harmon, 3, son of Barry and Anje Harmon, Atwood.

A gas-filled balloon bearing a number keyed to his name was released by Warsaw Soap Box Derby Champion Paul Benson, of Winona Lake, as he was officially welcomed to the All American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio. If the 30-inch rubber bubble travels farther than those freed by other champions, he will receive a $50 bond. The finder of the winning balloon will be awarded free trips for two to next year's Derby. The ceremony was one of the preliminaries to Sunday's big race in Akron. Paul lost out in the first round.

George Haswell and Paul Lowman of Winona Lake recently went to Lake Wawasee where they visited the Hoosier Art Salon, at the Spink-Wawasee Hotel.

Betty Mae Pound, Betty Jane Hailey, Iva Marie Stokey, Leesburg; Babe Snyder, Mentone; and Doris Copeland, Akron, visited last weekend at the Shades, Turkey Run, and in Brown County.
