Christine Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Cook of Warsaw, and Rachel Liebsch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Liebsch of Winona Lake, were named to the dean's list for the spring semester of the 1998-99 school year.
One of Indiana's foremost nature lovers was present Saturday to help dedicate the Edmund and Virginia Ball Nature Preserve on the western shore of James Lake (Little Tippecanoe). Gov. Robert Orr was the keynote speaker during the celebration at Camp Crosley, on the eastern shore of the lake.
Members of the Wessington Springs, South Dakota High School Class of 1910, assembled at Winona Lake recently for a three-day reunion. They came by plane, bus, train and car from New York, Florida, California and Washington and five other states. Mrs. Harry Johnson, of Winona Lake, is the hostess. Headquarters for the reunion is the Winona Hotel.
Because the Kosciusko County Council has failed to approve a fair appropriation for two years, for the first time in 19 years, no fair was held last September 1933. This has not deterred fair boosters from supporting a fair in September 1934. Due to the public spirited attitude of business, farmers and others, the fair will again be resumed with only the break in 1933.
