On Aug. 4, Jason and Sheila Conley took their vows of matrimony in their newly built barn before approximately 200 family members and friends. Sheila said she liked the idea of marrying in the barn because "it was going to be a lot more fun and relaxed, informal." As the newlyweds make their life together, they also have undertaken a new business together.
25 Years Ago Warsaw Travel Team reached the Midwest Regional in ASA Class B women's fast pitch play recently, winning the state title with a 6-3 win over Schererville. It's the second state title for the team, which took a Class C state title in 1985. Melany Kintzel had three hits and two runs batted in for Warsaw Travel, while Melissa Sand, Sue Eckhardt and Suzi Kintzel each had two hits in the championship contest. Lisa Lackey also knocked in two runs.
50 Years Ago Clarence Bellman, of Etna Green, placed first and a Claypool man, Noah Adams, was fourth in the recent Northern Indiana Horseshoe tournament held at Wabash. Both competed in the Class-A division.
Miss Susan Schaefer, Miss Sally Schaefer and Miss Linda DePont, of Warsaw, will attend the commencement ball at Culver military Academy this evening as guests of John Sipe, Indianapolis, Arthur Shuller, Columbus, Ind., and Dick Rummel, of Dayton, Ohio, respectively.
75 Years Ago Fred Laurien, Winona Lake, is enjoying a week's vacation from his duties at the Phillipson Clothing store. He and Mrs. Laurien and their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Colman Goudie, Lagrange, are spending the week at Chapman Lake.
