The following recipe was entered in the 1984 Times-Union Recipe Contest: Butterscotch Nut Fudge.

1/2 cup butter; 2 cups brown sugar; 2 cups sugar; 1 1/2 cup sour cream; 2 tsp. vanilla; 1 cup chopped nuts. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan. Add brown and white sugar and sour cream. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves, then until 236-F. Without stirring, cool at room temperature until lukewarm. Beat until mixture holds its shape and loses its gloss. Quickly add vanilla and nuts. Spread into two buttered eight-inch square pans. Cool and cut into squares. - Dodie Kreger, Rt. 3, Warsaw
