    Corie Cox won first place in English equitation at the Indiana State Fair. English equitation is a class scored on the rider's form and how well the rider handles the horse. She has owned her horse "Banjoes Royal Dot" for four years and has trained it herself. Cox and Banjoe also placed fourth in hunter-type showmanship.

    ROCHESTER - Michael Jones, head basketball coach and athletic director at South Newton High School the past five years, has been appointed head basketball coach at Rochester High School.

Jones, 33, replaces Rick Greene, who recently resigned to become head basketball coach at Mississinewa High School.

    Beaver Dam and North Webster boys claimed top 4-H awards at the 41st Kosciusko County Fair.

A Black Angus, shown by Dick Sittler, 12, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sittler, of Beaver Dam, was chosen as the Grand Champion Steer. Keith Stump, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Stump, of North Webster, received the top showmanship award at the dairy program.

August 16 1932

    Kappa Alpha Phi fraternity met in the regular business session in the club rooms. Russell Meredith and Jake Menzie were chosen as delegates to represent Warsaw chapter at the national Kappa Alpha Phi convention to be held Aug. 14 to 18 at Oklahoma City, Okla. Earl Smith and Stanley Hull were named alternates.
