The tunnel connecting the county courthouse and the Justice Building under Lake Street has a leak, the Kosciusko County commissioners were told recently. Warsaw City Council President Virginia Summe was among those  who took a closer look at a Huey Helicopter with two Indiana National Guard aviators recently. Summe and about 25 other city and county officials attended a meeting to discuss the proposed establishment of an Army Aviation Support Facility. "Seeking public support for a National Guard aviation facility is a job the military leadership prefers not to perform. We want to come to Warsaw because it fills a very key role," said Farrell. "We'll only come if the people, the civilian leadership, wants us to come to Warsaw."

Kosciusko County was visited by the best rain experienced for the past seven or eight weeks. In Warsaw and the vicinity, official rain gauges show a precipitation of more than one-half of an inch. Farmers from Burket and the vicinity report an inch rainfall. Farmers reported that this rain is worth thousands of dollars to this community, as alfalfa fields are benefited and late pasture is anticipated. The temperature dropped more than 25 degrees. Shortly afternoon some thermometers registered as high as 96 to 100 degrees.
