    A new concrete floor was poured in the 4-H Horse and Pony Barn at the county fairgrounds. The improvement was made possible by a grant from the Kosciusko County Foundation.

August 15 1984

    After 19 years of working on different road projects throughout the area, veteran Kosciusko County Highway Department employee Charles Cotton retired recently from public service.

For the past several years, Cotton, 65, has been employed as a front-end loader operator with the highway department. When he started on his first day, "they picked me up on a Thursday morning and I got home on a Monday evening," he said, explaining he spent four days driving a snowplow during a winter storm.

August 15 1959

    Winona Lake's Miss Florence Murray, who years ago taught German and math in a Free Methodist high school at Wessington Springs, S.D., prepared dinner Wednesday evening for some of her former pupils, here for the Class of 1910 reunion. She gave them a Chinese dinner, using recipes picked up during 27 years as a Free Methodist missionary in Keifong and Chungking, prior to World War II.

    Mr. and Mrs. George Tucker and family of West Market Street returned recently to Warsaw after spending the weekend at A Century of Progress Exposition at Chicago.
