    TERRE HAUTE - Amy Miles, daughter of Helen Miles, Warsaw, has been awarded the Florence Curtis Memorial Scholarship at Indiana State University.

Miles, a 1993 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, is a senior physical education major. She plans to teach and coach.

    Eleven-year-old Jay Wagner of Warsaw has fared well in national motocross races held recently. First, he placed fourth in his division in the National Motorcycle Association Grand Nationals in Ponca City, Okla., and then last week placed 13th in the American Motorcycle Association Nationals in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.

He is the son of Robert and Mary Wagner, Warsaw.

    Ella Kirkdorfer, 89, of 204 Fort Wayne Ave., has been exhibiting items of needlework at the county fair for the past 28 years.

Despite her advance age, Kirkdorfer is again this year entering competition, and chances are she will carry away some of those coveted blue ribbons.

August 15 1932

    The Warsaw Ice Co. is erecting an ice storage building on East South Street by the Big Four railroad tracks. This storage will have a capacity of from 50 to 75 tons of ice and will be cooled by a refrigerating plant. Ernest Clase, of the Warsaw Ice Co., is very optimistic regarding the ice situation in Warsaw and vicinity.
