    Team Indiana, a basketball team made up of Indiana University recruits, will play an exhibition game in the Tiger Den at Warsaw Community High School.

Team Indiana's opponent will be Tiffany's 17 and under AAU team from Topeka. Playing for Tiffany's will be current WCHS players Chris Rhodes, Steve Siebenmorgen and Chris Wiggins. Playing for Team Indiana will be current WCHS players Ross Kesler, Zach Nelson and Greg Seiss.

August 14 1984

    The Combined Community Services, a newly formed social service organization, has been awarded a $12,000 grant to begin operations. These funds were provided through the United Neighborhood Council, which serves a five-county area, including Kosciusko County.

August 14 1959

    Bazil O'Reilley, Warsaw high school band instructor, and his wife, Opal, have been named counselors for the 16th annual high school music clinic to be held at Indiana University. Five hundred band, orchestra and voice students will attend the clinic.


75 Years Ago

August 14 1934

    With thermometers registering from 105 to 110 degrees Sunday, the worst heat wave of many years, men appeared at church services in Warsaw did not wear their coats.

The streets in the business district became so hot that barefoot boys hopped on them like on red hot stones. Water from fire hydrants in the business district flushing the streets, cooled the heated pavement and reduced the temperature on the sun-baked streets five to 10 degrees.
