10 Years Ago Seven Boy Scouts and three leaders from Leesburg Boy Scout Troop 729 traveled to eastern Kentucky recently for eight days of hiking, canoeing, fishing and cave exploration. Scouts making the trip were Matt Stormer, Eric King, Brock Himes, Brandon Searfoss, Adam Hawkins, Joe Avery and Mike Carson. 25 Years Ago Medals and memorabilia for Warsaw Community High School graduate Randy Heisler are on display in downtown Warsaw, while Heisler tries for a medal at the 10th Pan American Games in Indianapolis. Among the items on display in the Hull House storefront are gold medals Heisler received in the discus at the World University games in Yugoslavia and the U.S. Olympic festival in North Carolina, both in July. Heisler is a 1980 WCHS graduate and current track strength coach at Indiana University, 50 Years Ago A North Manchester couple, Mr. and Mrs. William Shively, have given an annuity gift to Manchester College in excess of $200,000 it was announced by President A. Blair Helman. Mr. and Mrs. Shively transferred their North Manchester dairy business and equipment, two residences, two farms comprising 445 acres, their interest in livestock, equipment and crops and other property, in exchange for a lifetime annuity contract. 75 Years Ago Among those from Warsaw who attended the dance at the Waco Pavilion, Lake Wawasee, where the music of Ace Brigode and his orchestra were featured recently were Mr. and Mrs. Herb Dye, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Tarman of New Paris, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kauffman of Goshen, Miss Sue Simmons, Louis Breading, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Silveus and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Elliott.
