The Warsaw Parks Friday Night Performing Arts series attendees were treated to some rather off-key tones during Friday's performance of the harp/flute duet - Eleganza.
During the pair's rendition of a piece by the French composer Debussy, the audience also was treated to the sputtering of the parks department's utility cart and clanging crash of metal on metal, as two park employees drove the cart into a cast iron light standard next to the main stage. Fortunately no one was hurt, and some of the audience noticed the light pole was softly swaying in time with Debussy's "Clouds."

A poster featuring the "old-west" style will be distributed in an effort to find a buyer for the vacant hospital.
Richard Snodgrass, vice president of First National Bank, tells us the posters will not only be advertised in The Times-Union, but other major newspapers in the state. Building owners First National Bank and Irmscher and Sons Inc. have been trying to sell the structure for some seven years. Mayor Jeff Plank came up with the idea of a $20,000 reward, and the owners came up with the money.

A delightful announcement party was held recently by members and guests of the Psi Iota Xi sorority of Mentone at the city park. A delicious potluck supper was served and in the center of the table was a miniature lake, on which were several tiny boats. Each member and guest received a boat, which contained the announcement of the coming marriage of Miss Louise Black of Mentone and William J. Chinworth of Warsaw. At the close of the evening, ice cream was served.
