An interesting incident happened in the office of County Assessor Bert E. Dausman. Persons passing the office heard loud "snoring." Upon looking in they were surprised to see the assessor hard at work, although the "snoring" continued.

Entering the office a fat maltese kitten was seen reposing on the assessor's lap and it was so contented that its loud purring could be heard in the hall of the court house.
