    The Knights of Columbus recently made a $500 contribution to Syracuse Boy Scout Troop 728. The Knights sponsored a special bingo for the Scouts at which they also collected food to be distributed to local food pantries. Tony Cordez is the Knights representative; assistant scoutmaster is Sarah Clerkin; and Mark Dunnithan, unit commissioner for the Scouts.

    Brian Roberts, Syracuse, is helping the Boilermaker Tractor Pull Foundation celebrate its 10th anniversary by serving the organization as a senior board executive member.

Roberts, a 1981 graduate of Wawasee High School and a senior studying agriculture economics at Purdue, is senior board pull chairman.

    The Warsaw Fire Department was called to the Glenn Carper residence in Warsaw at 5:45 pm Tuesday evening when a fire broke out in the oven of the home.

Firemen said the fire was out on arrival and the evening meal was the only damage reported.

    Prof. B. O. Worrell, prominent local music instructor, has been engaged by the Warsaw Legion band as director. The band will play special concerts on the streets during the summer months.
