Art and Nicki Miller, Warsaw, have purchased the Claypool Inn, and their first plan is not to change too much too fast. It will remain the home of the 75-cent draft and the coldest beer in Kosciusko County.
A contingent of bicyclists from the Claypool area were recently treated to a pizza party by the Lake Village Pizza Hut in Warsaw. The group, which peddled for St. Jude's Children Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., was given the party as a prize for raising $1,085.41 in the Bike-A-Thon. There were 36 individuals who participated.
Hugh A. Barnhart, Rochester, Ind., president of the U.S. Telephone Association, speaking at the 37th annual convention of the New York State Telephone Association, predicted recently that microwave communications eventually will eliminate telephone poles and wires. He also predicted that in the "not too distant future" telephones would make possible telephone conferences to replace business conventions.
An electrical score board, made by Walter "Doc" Evans, popular pugball pitcher, has been erected at the municipal soft ball field at the city park. More than 200 wire connections were placed in the board. So highly illuminating is the board that it can be clearly recognized for several blocks from its position on the pugball diamond.
