Chief White Eagle and his wife, Bobby Bear, came to the Dick McCleary Scout Ranch June 18 for the fourth annual presentation of Indian lore and traditions. They spoke to 50 Webelos Scouts. Chief White Eagle has been in more than 40 films, working with John Wayne and other stars. He and his wife live at Leiters Ford and will appear at the “Trail of Courage” festival in Rochester this summer.
Pack 3450, North Manchester, spent the weekend of May 31 and June 1 at Indiana Beach. The chilly weekend was enjoyed by 35 Scouts and their family members. Despite the weather and a runaway tent, the weekend was a success.

Three Blue Herons have been making the north shore of Center Lake home recently. Diners at Noble Romans and The Viewpoint have been able to watch the herons fly along the shore.
The brief showers that hit Warsaw Wednesday afternoon only served to settle the dust and add to the humidity. Jackie Sanders was prepared; she has her umbrella as she walks across the Courthouse lawn. Claude Phillips, 10, and his 5-year-old sister, Shirica Clark, took refuge in the Center Lake Pavilion.

A considerable number of local graduates are entering the fields of medicine or dentistry. Presently, 11 graduates of Warsaw High School are in medical or dental schools or completing their training. It is believed that possibly no other school in the nation with a comparable high school enrollment can surpass this record: James Henderson, Winona Lake, University of Cincinnati School of Medicine; Dennis Stouder, Warsaw, Indiana University School of Medicine; Tom Van Osdol, Warsaw, Indiana University School of Dentistry; Harry Keffer, Warsaw, Northwestern University School of Medicine; Don Truex, Warsaw, School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California; Robert Armstrong, Warsaw, Stanford University; Charles A. Hollar, Warsaw, Indiana University School of Dentistry; Cloyd Dye Jr., Warsaw, chief medical resident at the Indiana University Medical Center; Robert Chaney, Warsaw, Indiana University School of Medicine; Duke D. Fisher, Leesburg, Indiana University School of Medicine; Robert W. Burt, Warsaw, medical technician at Wesley hospital in Chicago. Other students are in paramedic training.

Rev. George B. Dunham is scoutmaster of a new Boy Scout troop organized in the Pierceton Methodist Church. The troop has been designated as Troop 27 of the Pioneer Trails Council. George Plew is chairman and will represent the troop on the district executive committee. The following boys are charter members: Bert Kelton, Jimmie Matchett, Floyd Mitterling, Jack Noble, Buddy Plew, Billy Schuldt, Delbert Curtis and Charles Brower. The installation ceremony May 29 will be in charge of Donald Lessig and Ezra Graham. The investiture ceremony will be in charge of Troop 30, First Methodist Church of Warsaw, of which Freeland Phillips is scoutmaster. This troop has been assisting the Pierceton troop in organizing.
