Organizers Lila O'Connell and David Taylor were pleased with the turnout for the first Pierceton Art Fair held in Brower Park July 23. Robert A. Hudson won the Best of Show award. Winning merit awards in the professional category: Braxton Eikenberry, first; Sean Hoffman, second; David and Sandy Key, third; Erik Vasteen, fourth; Bonnie Gore, fifth. Non-professional: Denise Holt, first; Scott James, second; Robin Mitchell, third; Brett Bailey, fourth; Kay DuBois, fifth.

This summer, owner/operator Adele Wollman has added a new attraction to her shop, Adele's Attic, located at Center Center Plaza in Warsaw. Charlie Kinka, 75, and his wife, Mary, recently moved to the Warsaw area from Chicago with truckloads of collectable artifacts in tow. Now that his two garages and rented storage sheds are overflowing, he's ready to part company with his treasures. Charlie's Collection at Adele's Attic is comprised of antiques, memorabilia and artwork from a lifelong collector.
Warsaw Mayor Jeff Plank congratulated Mary Andis of the local Welcome Wagon July 25 on the 62nd anniversary of the organization's founding.

Chief of Police Donald Snyder signed final papers for Homer Howard Jr. and Jim Luna to attend the Police League of Indiana summer camp at the Flat Rock River YMCA grounds near Indianapolis July 14-24.

North Webster paid a special tribute to Paul Beezley, 94, during Memorial Day services. He is the only living Civil War veteran of the community.
Foster Jones and family sent his father, S.M. Jones, a talkie disc, recording experiences on his return trip to Detroit after visiting in Warsaw.
