10 Years Ago Four signs acknowledging the athletic achievements of Warsaw Community High School students have been placed at entrances into the city. In 1991, a girls softball team earned state honors. Other state titles earned by athletic team include the 1984 boys basketball team, the 1978 girls basketball team and the 1976 girls basketball team. Missing from the signage are the state - and national - titles won very recently by academic teams, which traditionally involve more students who practice and travel to compete as much or more than the athletes. The percussion ensemble was a national champion last year and the 1997-98 Spell Bowl Team members were state champions.

Cost of the project is estimated at $300,000 and is expected to be completed in time for use in 1963.
75 Years Ago Announcement was made that Mayor C.C. DuBois has ordered the city park at Indiana and Center Street, which has been a weed patch for the past 10 months, reconditioned. The park has been abandoned since the Warsaw Builders & Trades association remodeled an old house for a business exhibit at the county fair of 1935. Considerable adverse comment has been made that this organization did not fix up the park after the free use of city property for the exhibit of the model house.
