Brandon Grubbs was named the 1997 Garber Award winner at the annual end of the season Warsaw Little League picnic at Boggs Park. The award is presented to a 15-year-old who has played at the park for at least seven years and has shown good sportsmanship and a good attitude toward the game, fellow players, coaches and spectators.
With an impressive record of 35 years as an officer and director of the First National Bank of Warsaw, Ross W. Sittler recently retired as vice chairman of the bank and was honored for his lengthy service.
Little Kelly Latta, vivacious 3-year-old daughter of Paul and Betty Lu Latta, South Maple Avenue, doesn't need a soap box. She gets along very well without it, amazing all listeners with continual chatter about anything and everything. Honest fact is Kelly may get a little perturbed with anyone who talks when she is around.
A wiener roast was enjoyed along the Tippecanoe River near Warsaw by a group of six girls. Those present were Josephine and Mildred Chapman, Ethna Scott, Genevieve Oliver, Alpha Faris and Mrs. Ocie Davis.
