A truck has been donated by the Kosciusko County Seed Improvement Association to the Kosciusko County Fair Association for its use on the county fairgrounds. Although the seed cleaning organization is still active after 49 years, changes in farming and the use of certified seed has put less demand on the service and the association was able to donate one of its vehicles for use by the fair. With several hundred dollars worth of shrubbery at the city park at Center Lake being endangered by the prolonged drought, city employees this week took the city pumper, used to flush sewers to Center Lake. The hose was put into the lake and the shrubbery was given a drenching. Not only shrubs, but trees 15 feet or more tall, are now wilting in various sections of the city. Trenches are being dug around these trees, by the owners and a drenching is given in an effort to save the trees.
