    Jill Sibray and Kevin Masur from Warsaw Community High School were recently awarded the U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete Award.

This award is presented annually by the U.S. Army Reserve to high school students who have shown outstanding ability in academics and athletics.

July 24 1982

    FORT WAYNE - Betty Hite, 36, of North Webster won a third marathon in less than a year by capturing the women's division in the eighth annual TV 33-Hook's Three Rivers Festival Marathon at Fort Wayne.

The Syracuse Elementary School teacher has also won marathons in Dayton and Chicago and finished sixth in an international marathon in Sweden within the past year.

July 24 1957

    Archie Holle, of Warsaw, who has won many feature stock car races at the Warsaw Speedway, did it again Saturday night.

A large crowd saw Holle flash across the finish line in the 25-lap modified stock feature. John Huff, of Burket, won the regular stock feature.

75 Years Ago

July 24 1932

    In a shoot of town marshals, bank deputies and county officers held at Etna Green, Sheriff Harley D. person made the high score. Town marshals present were: Ross, of Sidney; Bushong, Milford; Miner, Etna Green; and Hunter, assistant chief of Winona Lake. Bank deputies from Etna Green and Mentone were present as well as Sheriff Person, Deputy Rovenstine and Special Deputy Beebe.
