The district includes Maple, Third and Mill streets and the north bank of the Eel River. The area is named as Victorian Village. This listing opens the door to new and exciting developments for downtown North Manchester. 25 Years Ago If it weren’t for community involvement, Warsaw would have continued to be no more than a blur to Amtrak officials and riders of the Broadway Limited train, which chugs through the city on a daily basis. For Amtrak and Warsaw, the request to place a station here has been a prosperous venture. Recently, train officials stopped in town to present a plaque of appreciation to Mr. and Mrs. Milford Lock, who offered Amtrak a portion of their building to use as a depot. The remaining portion of the building is used as the couple’s ceramics business, and just recently they renovated the upstairs which now serves as their permanent residence. 50 Years Ago Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Creighton, Crystal Lake Road, will fly from Chicago to San Francisco today on the first leg of a round-the-world tour. They will attend the World Poultry Congress in Sydney, Australia, Aug. 10-18. The Creightons will have a few days in Santa Rosa, Calif., with their son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. John Bodle, before boarding a plane for Hawaii. From there they will fly to Japan, Indonesia and Australia. 75 Years Ago Miss Louise Ireland and Bruce Metzger of near Claypool left for a motor trip through northern Michigan and Wisconsin, where they will visit the Wisconsin Dells and Lake Geneva. Dr. John Koegel and Sea Scouts Robert Hunter and Max Crall will return Thursday evening to Warsaw after taking part in a cruise on a training ship in Lake Michigan this week.
