Warsaw's Matt Kloser was recently named to the Academic All-State baseball team by the Indiana Coaches Association. Kloser played catcher for the Tigers, who won 20 games in a season for the first time in a decade.
The Tippecanoe Country Club Ladies Bridge met recently with 10 tables in play. Hostesses were Emma Korth, Vi Miller and Laura Hadley. Winners were Hilda Coppes, Rosalie Spear, Susie Breading, Kitty Bell, Karen Kindig, Lois Weddle, Winnie Cluen, Louise Sunthiemer, Mary Pirtle and Opal Lehman. Ruth Phillips won the door prize.
Sue Bennett, Peggy Pochron, Susan Howard and Kathy Bibler lined up the turtles racing for their units in the closing day's program of the Brownie Day Camp at the county fairgrounds. After a few zig-zags, Susan Howard's turtle cross the finish line first.
Students of Nellie Kilian presented a piano recital at the home of Mrs. Richard Robinson at Winona Lake. Those taking part were: Ruth Jane Arnold, Agnes Jane Duncan, Edith Yarian, Margaret Bartol, Delores Yarian, Ruth Newlin, Lois Robinson, Sybil Saylor, Winona Norris and Dickey Robinson.
