 A Wawasee 4-H team of Kelly Darr, Sarah Banghart, Becky Clayton and Hollie Sharp placed seventh in Homesite Judging and 10th in Land Judging during the National Soil Judging Contest in Oklahoma.
Tigers win the junior minor title at Warsaw Little League: Bailey Ness, Jonathan Murphy, Daniel Huber, Stuart Wagner, Ford Ness, Hannah Kistler, Marcos and Marselo Rodriguez, Tyler LaFollette, Jonathon Vickers, Cody Kline, David Holiday and Ryan Marshall. Coaches are Gary LaFollette and David Kistler.
Jenna Gross, daughter of Jerry and Jill Gross, Mentone, and a Tippecanoe Valley High School graduate, is on the Dean’s List at Butler University.

 Pig racing is coming to the 45th annual Mermaid Festival June 22-30, with races scheduled Monday through Saturday nights in the midway. Most popular are the Asian potbelly pigs. Also new this year is a monster truck show, according to Lions member Dave Patterson. Grand marshal for this year’s parade will be Peg (Kammerer) Klopstein, the first Queen of Lakes in 1946. Ronald McDonald is the grand marshal of the cutie parade.
Kristina Crane, daughter of Bill and Sherry Crane, Pierceton, is a state finalist in the Miss American Princess Pageant in Indianapolis July 14 and 15.
Dr. William Remington Jr. joins Dr. William Walker at Parker St. Family Practice July 1.

 Alan Sands, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sands, and Hal Gunter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Gunter, are valedictorian and salutatorian at Claypool High School.
Geryce Bradt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rexford Bradt, Warsaw, was awarded a scholarship from the American Association of University Women.
Warsaw Community High School, Da-Lite Screen scholarship awards: John Longenecker, James Nyenhuis, William A. Becker and Robert J. Becker.
Syracuse High School: Cassandra Wells, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack B. Wells, valedictorian; Geraldine Bauer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Bauer, salutatorian.
    Top students at North Webster High School are Rodney Hine and Melinda Watson.

Search for Warsaw barber Lowell Valentine’s automobile, stolen May 10, spread to southern Indiana and Kentucky when it was learned that license plates from an abandoned car here were found in Jeffersonville. The plates were on an automobile stolen in Danville, Ky.
