The Tippecanoe Valley High School Building Trades Class will hold its open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The house is on CR 800S, west of the intersection with CR 600W. The house is owned by John and Dixie Nichols (address, 6117 W. CR 800S).

Kosciusko County Fair Association will sponsor the second annual Kosciusko County Fair Queen Pageant in conjunction with the Kosciusko County Fair this year. The competition will be held at the Sacred Heart Auditorium July 23. The winner (based on bathing suit, evening gown and interview competition) will represent Kosciusko County in the Miss Indiana State Fair competition Aug. 12-14 in Indianapolis. Entry deadline is May 23. All girls must be at least 16 years of age and not more than 21 by Aug. 12. She must live in Kosciusko County and be active in a worthwhile organization for the community.

Madison Elementary School defeated Lincoln in a dual track meet Thursday by a 53-38 score. Grossnickle copped the 100 and 220 yard dashes for Lincoln and Everett the shot put and 330 yard dash for Madison. Lincoln won the B-team meet, 52-1/2 to 38-1/2.
Warsaw’s Mike Davis won his first singles match but was defeated in the second round by Jerry Bradley, of Peru, 6-0, 6-0. Warsaw’s tennis team tied for fifth (with Wabash and Elwood) in the CIC Tennis Crown in Peru. The doubles team of Steve Clase and Jim Gast lost to Muncie Burris, 6-2, 6-0, who finished second. Peru won.

Speaker for Decoration Day, May 30, will be Col. O. B. Kilmer. Committees have been appointed from members of the American Legion (Loren Chastain, commander), Spanish-American War Veterans (Lee M. Kindell, commander), and Veterans of the Foreign Wars (Ralph Byrer, aide) to make arrangements for the program. Graves for the GAR, VFW, SAWV, Mexican Border and World War veterans will be marked with American flags and flowers. The program committee: R. A. Trumbull, chairman; Ben Eagler, Edith Kuhn, Frank Meredith, John and Violet LeHew. Mayor C. C. DuBois, the city council, Boy Scouts, schools, and Chief of Police, Frank Lucas, will be taking part. Appointed to be president of the day will be Rev. E. L. Semans, commander GAR.
