    The Rainbow Room in the Westminster Hotel, Winona Lake, recently was renamed the Ken Anderson Room. Anderson was on the original board for the Youth for Christ organization and is the proprietor of Ken Anderson Films.

July 2 1984

    Irene Abst was honored by the Warsaw Middle School recently for her six years of volunteer service. She was given a plant by teacher Ron Hutcherson. Each April and December, she spends three weeks assisting health teachers during the unit on cardio-pulmonary recusitation. The teachers instruct the students on the process of CPR and Abst directs the practical application. This year, 465 students, or 95 percent, received their CPR cards.

July 2 1959

    Patty Strombeck, of North Webster, will perform in a fast and colorful dance, "Spanish Revue," during the Lionarama Variety Show, a feature of the North Webster Mermaid Festival. Strombeck also will appear in a South Sea dance, "Lovely Hula Hands."


75 Years Ago

July 2 1934

    Effective immediately, the Pierceton rural routes have reduced its number from three to two.

With the retiring of Walter Long, carrier on route 3, this route was divided up between the other two rural carriers. Long retired after 31 years of service. Carrier Keller of route No. 1 now has a 55-mile route to cover, and Carrier Delano of route No. 2 has a 53-mile route under the new consolidation.
