Marine PFC Richard Gilbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gilbert, Winona Lake, is serving in South Viet Nam. "Morale is high among our men at the air base." Ron Clase, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Clase, Warsaw, won the Boys 16 State Tennis Championship at Peru. The three-day tourney concluded Sunday, July 11. Ralph and Gladys Boice, veteran tennis players, were Ron's first coaches and are known as "Mr. and Mrs. Tennis" in Warsaw. 75 Years Ago Bobby Hoppus, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thurlow Hoppus, Warsaw, suffered a gash in his hip Saturday morning while playing on the Walnut Creek bridge with a group of children. He was sliding down the side rail and struck a jagged piece of steel, a remnant of a past auto accident. Dr. Orville Richer dressed the wound. Johnny "Tarzan" Widaman, law student at Indiana University, is to be the city bathing beach king this summer for another three months of life-guarding, succeeding Fred Olds, Jr.
