Warsaw resident Harold Edwards Sr. was captured in a feature photo on Page 1 of the Colorado Springs, Colo., Gazette recently. The picture showed Edwards and another man peering at an upright steam engine on show at the Western Museum of Mining and Industry.
Everil Helser, Warsaw, was crowned the 1982 Area 11 Senior Queen during a queen contest at the Center Lake Park Pavilion in Warsaw. Helser will next compete in the senior citizen's queen contest at the Indiana State Fair in August.
Builder Bill Nice, North Parker Street, has delighted our publisher with a gift of the finest honey ever tasted. Nice's seven stands or hives of honey bees produced 50 pounds of the sweet elixir in the past three weeks. Last year Bill's busy bees produced for him nearly 1,000 pounds. Present crop comes from the nectar his bees have been gathering form white clover blossoms and has a distinctive clover blossom aroma. Mmmmm, good!
To demonstrate the intensity of the present heat wave, Lawrence Siders, of the Warsaw Tire and Battery Shop, cooked an egg on the hot sidewalk in front of his store. The white part of the egg cooked as thoroughly as in a frying pan.
