    The Society of Certified Insurance Counselors recently award Marvin P. Miller, CIC, of Wes Miller Insurance, with a certificate recognizing his "steadfast commitment to continuing education."

Earning his CIC designation and maintaining all update requirements for five years places Miller among the top 1 percent of all insurance professionals in America.

    The Kosciusko Community YMCA swim established team records in the girls 9-10 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays during the recent mini-invitational with the Tippecanoe Valley Aquatic Club.

The "Y" foursome of Cindy Keough, Susie Mikel, Leah Reed and Amy Sumpter set both records.

July 21 1957

    David Prowant, of Silver Lake, at 101 believed to be Kosciusko County's oldest living resident, is recovering at his home after swallowing an open safety pin.

Special equipment was used to remove the safety pin without requiring surgery at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

July 21 1932

    Eight ewes belonging to H.S. Anglin, Warsaw, are doing their best to help their owner during the depression. Mr. Anglin expects to get 18 baby lambs from the eight mama lambs this year. Usually lambs reproduce but once a year, but last February the eight gave birth to 12 lambs, nine of which survived. And now in the past three weeks the ewes are having their second set of lambs.
