    A project at the Hoosier Heritage School at Harrison Elementary will help students to name the 22 trees native to Indiana. The Hoosier Heritage School at Harrison Elementary is a replica of a one-room schoolhouse during the pioneer days.

The native tree project, in conjunction with the Hoosier Heritage school, was the brain-child of Harrison Elementary Principal Randy Polston.

    Kelly J. May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. Black and the late William E. May, was honored at the third annual Midwest Talent Search Awards held at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.

She was one of 400 top students in competition with more than 19,000 of the ablest junior high age students in the Midwest Region and in 32 countries abroad. She will be in the eighth grade at Warsaw Middle School this fall.

July 18 1959

    Mrs. Dorothy Powers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A . M. McInturf, Warsaw, will play in "The Stephen Foster Story" at Bardstown, Ky., for 10 weeks this summer. The cast of 56 actors, singers and dancers was chosen in nationwide auditions.

    Mrs. Edgar Templin and son, Harold, and the Misses Ruth and Martha Lou Templin will attend the commencement exercises of Ball State Teacher's College. Willard Templin, a son of Mrs. Templin, is in this year's graduating class.
