Attendees at the Indiana Sheriff's Association Career Camp that took place at Camp Mack recently, may have thought they were being treated to a historical re-enactment when stranded officers were shuttled in from a broken pier by boat.

At one point during the camp presentations, several officers were standing on a pier on Waubee Lake when a portion of it collapsed, leaving the officers with no way back to shore unless they wanted to swim. Most of the officers were in civilian clothing, but Lt. Steve Knispel, of the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, was in full uniform. He didn't even have to get his boots wet, though, because the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department rescued him in their rubber boat, giving a Gen. Douglas McArthur flair to the camp?
