Warsaw Fire Department responded to an alarm at North Supply on Crystal Lake Road around 1:56 a.m. The building is a warehouse distribution center for Sprint; telephone equipment is sent throughout the United States from here. Firefighters were assisted by Winona Lake, Atwood and Leesburg Fire Departments. The fire was under control by 3:21 a.m.
Pam Kennedy and Linda Beall of Warsaw helped Habitat for Humanity International build 20 houses in Benton Harbor, Mich. June 19-24.

Two Kosciusko County youths placed as state achievement winners at the 4-H Roundup at Purdue University: Jill E. Sommers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sommers, Silver Lake, won with her beef project; Shawn C. Krull, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Krull, Milford, won with his plant/soil science project. Both were sponsored by the Indiana State Fair Board.
Warsaw standout Brian Elliott has decided to attend Grace College on a basketball/golf scholarship. Grace basketball coach Jim Kessler is more than happy; six times this season he reached the 30-point plateau, ending his career with 831 points. Richard Dilling is golf coach at Grace. Brian is the son of John and Elaine Elliott of Warsaw.
Jim Kubacki recorded his first-ever hole-in-one at Stonehenge Championship Course. The ace was scored on hole No. 7, a 146-yard par 3, using an 8-iron.

Times-Union Calendar Girl for July is Connie Stouder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Stouder, New Paris. She is The Times-Union receptionist.
Enchanted Hills Playhouse, east side of Lake Wawasee on Highway 13A, opens its fifth season Friday, July 2. “Camelot” will bring up the curtain this year, running July 2-4 and 7-11. Cast includes: Jack Burkhart, Fort Wayne, in his fourth season, as King Arthur; New York's Nancy Leigh, in her first season, as Guenevere; also, in their first seasons, New York's Gunter Stern as Lancelot and Keith Titus, Cadillac, Mich., as Pellinore.
Howard (Rosie) Johnson, of Burket, assumed his duties as head of the county welfare department; with the retirement of Mrs. Willodean Kincaide Dec. 31, 1964, child case worker Keith Renbarger has been acting director.

Thursday, May 23 has been designated as the official opening of the straw hat season for men. But several residents of Warsaw have rushed the season as several summer headpieces have been conspicuous on the streets. Styles are similar to past seasons, display windows of haberdashers disclose.
