    Lee Harman will still be “keeping the main thing the main thing” after he leaves Warsaw schools - he’ll just be doing it in a little different way. Dr. Lee A. Harman, 57, whose last official day as superintendent of Warsaw Community Schools will be July 31, has used the motto as a reminder of what’s really important in education. Harman now will be doing that for Ball State University. “I’m shifting gears,” he said.

    The most expensive hog went for $33,000 and buyers came from as far as Taiwan at the United Duroc Swine registry’s auction during its three-day national congress. Rudy Glingle of Akron, Ind., took home $33,000 for her boar, which was bought Friday by the auctioneer, Howard Parrish, of Edon, Ohio. Cheng Hon Yang, a hog producer from Taiwan, said he wanted  to buy breeding stock to improve his herd of 550 sows.

  A gift of $100,000 was received by Manchester College, North Manchester, for it March of Progress campaign for capital funds it was announced by Robert Stauffer, of North Manchester, president of the College Board of Trustees. Donor of the gift is Cyrus Funderburg, Springfield, Ohio, who asked that it be used in the construction of a new library on the campus. Funderburg graduated from the college in 1899.

    Dr. and Mrs. O.A. Newlin have returned to their Winona Lake home from San Mateo, Fla., where they spent a most successful year serving the Presbyterian Church. They were accompanied home by their daughter, Ruth, who is a junior in the John B. Stetson University. Rev. Newlin and Ruth will leave in a few days for Akron, Ohio to conduct a tabernacle meeting for one month.
