    Dr. Paul Grossnickle celebrates his 75th birthday. This year, 1999, marks two other anniversaries for Grossnickle. In September, he will celebrate 55 years of marriage to his wife, Jane, and 50 years in practice as an optometrist.

July 13 1984

    The National Secondary Education Council announced recently that Dale Heitzel and Laura Cochran have been named as Academic All-Americans.

Heitzel, who attends Tippecanoe Valley High School, is the son of Allen and Karen Heitzel. Cochran, who attends Tippecanoe Valley, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Cochran.

50 Years Ago

July 13 1959

    Five boys and girls from the Warsaw Civil Air Patrol cadet squadron of the Indiana wing will attend a training school at Camp Whitman Air Force Base in Sadalia, Mo.

Those going from here are George Ballantyne, Janet Hartman, Aaron Hinesley, Lorraine Richards and Barbara Warren. They were selected from among 22 cadets.

July 13 1934

    Samuel F. DePoy, former president of the Warsaw board of education, was unanimously elected by the city council to fill the unexpired term of Wallace J. Dillingham, who resigned, as member of the city park board.
