Huntley Davis and Courtney Seilers won bicycles by placing first in the Big Wheel Race during the 2001 Festival of Lake held in Warsaw June 23. Davis won in the 4- and 5 year-old category. Jakkie Ferguson was second and Rachel Rodgers was third.
Seilers won in the 6- and 7-year-old category. Spencer Slaybaugh was second and Joe Waikel was third. The 21st annual Big Wheel Race was sponsored by the North Detroit Street Penguin Point Restaurant and the Wednesday  Morning Optimists.

A 1969 Warsaw Community High School graduate and yearbook editor, Sheri Minear Patterson joined the consulting team of Drs. Rita and Kenneth Dunn last week as they presented the Learning Styles Program to area educators. Patterson has completed her third year as dean of students at Franklin Township Middle School, Indianapolis, where the Learning Styles Program is used. She is the daughter of Bernard and Barbara Minear, owners of Minear's Antiques. Patterson has lived in Indianapolis since 1973.

William Lyons, 19-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Lyons, Leesburg, leaves Sunday morning for West Point, N. Y., where he will enter his plebe year at the United States Military Academy. William Lyons, a Leesburg High school honor student in 1960, spent the past school year as a freshman at Purdue University. He was recommended for the West Point appointment by Congressman Charles A. Halleck.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sawtelle and daughter, Jackie, arrived at Winona and opened their summer home, the Aloha, on McDonald Island. They  have been in Honolulu for the past two years. Mr. Sawtelle is senior member of the Winona Board of Directors.
