For the fourth consecutive year, the Lake City Skiers are the Division II Central Region champions, winning July 10 with 1,566 points. This was the first year the Lake City Skiers hosted the regional tournament at Hidden Lake. Outgoing members: Don Huber, Ted Wilson, Andy Chalk. First Free Methodist Church of Warsaw has welcomed Rev. Roger C. Sherman as its new pastor. He and his wife, Lorna, come to Warsaw from their recent pastorate in Gloversville, N.Y. The Shermans begin their duties June 25. Warsaw Reading Club was formed Oct. 8, 1880, and is one of the three oldest women's clubs in the state. A new building housing the box office has been added. 75 Years Ago Cars of Mrs. Robert Wagner, going north, and Wilma Grass, going east, both of Route 2, Warsaw, collided a mile north of the Palestine church. $115 damages. Mrs. Elmer G. Stahl, of Rural Route 2, Pierceton, is a Gold Star mother. Her son, Howard, 17, volunteered for overseas service during World War I and died in a base hospital in France of pneumonia. Three years after the war, his body was returned to the county and interred in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
