    Aaron Vis, a 1995 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, has completed a 10-month internship with the Indiana Pacers.

Vis, who will graduate from Ball State University in the fall, worked in the Game Event Operations and Entertainment Department. One of his duties included taking Boomer, the Pacers' mascot, to public appearances. Vis also worked at every home game this past season.

July 11 1984

    Chapter F of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association held a poker run for cancer in Warsaw recently, with 225 people participating. Some came as far away as Des Moines, Iowa. A check for $300 was presented to the cancer society in memory of Jimmy Painter, a charter member of GWRRA.

    Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Knepper, Chapman Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Shelton Kent, Beaver Dam Lake, have filed dedications to the Indiana Department of Conservation to open channels on Chapman and Beaver Dam Lakes to public use in exchange for permission to dig channels.

    The new 80-miles-an-hour Warsaw police car was delivered to the city by the Overmeyer Motor Co. Police Chief Frank R. Lucas and officers were well pleased with the car, The bullet-proof windshield still remains to be installed before the car is completed.
