Sunrise Grocery, owned by Randy and Teresa Martin, recently held its grand opening. The winner of the NASCAR door prize was Drew Dobbins, son of Jeff and Aletha Dobbins, Silver Lake. The store specializes in bulk foods, with a large variety of cheeses and sugar-free products. They also retail their own home-grown beef. As dairy farmers, the Martins sell their milk to Schenkels and carry their milk only in paper cartons. Plastic jugs have the potential to destroy vitamins and flavor due to light penetrating the plastic jugs. The store is located at 102 S. Jefferson St., Silver Lake.
