The Ramada Plaza Hotel Women's Bridge Group met recently with six tables playing. Winners were: Leora Fuller, Gayle Gonser, Barbara Stookey, JoAnn Mosbaugh, A.J. Plummer and Joelyn Hepler.
For the second year in a row, Warsaw Community High School graduate Randy Heisler has placed sixth in the discus at the NCAA Division I track and field meet in Eugene, Ore. Heisler was a senior at Indiana Central University.
Seventeen Kosciusko County high school students left early today for Boys State at Indiana University, Bloomington. The boys are sponsored by American Legion posts in the county, with assistance from Lions Clubs and the Warsaw Fire Department. Those attending were Tom White, North Webster; Jim Irwin, Atwood; Harry Alfrey, Syracuse; Russ Williamson, Etna Green; Bob Phillips, Warsaw; Barrie Rassi, Milford; Bill Lyons, Leesburg; Roger Nellans, Beaver Dam; Jim Aker and Bill Van Osdol, both of Warsaw; Bill Schaller, Pierceton; Dave Kinsey, Claypool; George Paton, Leesburg; Steve Fisher, Silver Lake; John Stouffer, Pierceton; Myrtus Dierks, Sidney; and Howard Shoemaker, Mentone.
A birthday surprise was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Phillips of Pierceton, complimentary to the latter's 49th birthday anniversary. A bountiful pot luck dinner was served to 33 relatives and friends.
