WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sara Leonard, Warsaw, will participate in the 1998 National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine June 28 to July 8 in Washington, D.C.
Gene Burkett took the checkered flag in two streetstock races, the slow heat and consolation, in the first Warsaw Speedway racing program. This Saturday, he'll try to go one better and capture the feature.
Four Bourbon youths will compete in the crop judging contest at the Indiana State Fair in August after winning Marshall County and district contests. They are Mark Martin, Larry Hall, Larry Lemler and David Dinius, who was high individual in the district.
Charley Ingle, who has read The Times for 50 years, brought to this office a copy of the paper of its issue of Oct. 18, 1883, which he had preserved among some old papers. Fifty years ago The Times was a very small daily, and in 1883 the daily was only 2 years old. Five columns to the page, the columns of reading matter being only 17 inches long.
