    SYRACUSE - The Wawasee Marching Warrior Pride was selected to participate as part of the half-time show for the Florida Gator Bowl.

The band will join approximately 2,700 other students to form a 2,800-member marching band for this show.

    A quartet of fourth-graders were winners in the recent Kosciusko County Firemen's Poster Contest at Triton Elementary School. Trophies were given to Kim Cannan, Greta Martin, Debbie Hall and Katrina Klotz. Presenting the awards were Etna Green Firemen Tom Feldman and Jerry Clase.

    Ken Schubert, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Schubert, East Main Street, left for a summer job at Canyon Inn in Yellowstone Park, Wyo.

He'll be playing trumpet with a six-piece combo that's been quite successful on the Indiana University campus.

    Virginia Kelly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kelly, of South Buffalo Street, played in the annual tennis tournament at Purdue University where she is a student and won the university's girls' championship.
