    Grady Randall and Melonie Albert, eighth-graders at Edgewood Middle School, received Certificates of Distinguished Achievement from John C. Peterson Post 49 American Legion represented by Bob Litchenwalter. The students were selected by the school staff on the basis of the courage, honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship and service.

    Anthony A. "Tony" Kinzie, a freshman at Warsaw Freshman High School, has been selected to participate as one of 20 residential students in the Nations In Crisis Television Workshop of the Indiana University College for the Gifted and Talented Youth summer program

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Kinzie, Warsaw.

    Sidney's Wildcats quashed a seventh-inning rally by Claypool to win a county high school league baseball contest 11 to 7.

Dave Michael was the winning pitcher. George England, the loser. Michaels struck out three straight batters to end a seventh-inning rally by Claypool.

    Katherine Croxall, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. C.B. Croxall, 210 S. Indiana St., and Bernard M. Hess, son of T.A. Hess, North Lake Street, will both receive bachelor's degrees when they graduate next week at the University of Illinois.
