    MENTONE - Orabelle "Orie" Meredith will serve as parade marshal for this year's Mentone Egg Festival. She is being honored for her many years of service to the Chamber of Commerce and the community.

Orie has served nearly 25 years on the Chamber of Commerce board of directors, on which she has held every office on the chamber and was the first female to serve as president, in 1987.

    Mike Hasty, Warsaw, scored the first hole-in-one of the season at Rozella Ford Golf Club when he aced the par-3, 205-yard 11th hole.

The 28-year-old Hasty used a 2-iron to notch the first ace of his career. It was apparently one of several good shots for Hasty in the round as he wound up with a two-over-par 72.

    Jean Kelley, pretty 16-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Kelley, East Fort Wayne Street, will appear in her first public piano recital June 9 at the Westminster Hotel, Winona Lake.

    Milo Lightfoot, a graduate of the Pierceton High School of the class of '32, has been awarded the Edward Rector Scholarship in DePauw University at Greencastle, which entitles him to a four-years course in that institution of learning.
