First Source Bank team won first place in the Beaman's Home 13th Annual Golf Tournament at South Shore Golf Course: Steve Dobbs, Ken Bucher, Jerry Clevenger, Mike Reed and Denny Hively. The team won with a score of 13-under.

Former pro basketball player George Lehman held a shooting clinic for members of the Grace College and Warsaw Tiger summer camps at the Lancer gym. Lehman is known as one of the purest shooters in the game and had several good hints for the young players.

Sgt. Carl D. Dawalt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Murl Dawalt, Etna Green, who has served eight years in the United States Air Force, is beginning another four-year enlistment. Now serving in Spain, he will return to join his wife and eight-month-old son, Shane Allen, at his base in Columbus, Miss. He graduated from Etna Green High School.
Warsaw Presbyterian Nursery School: David Johnston, Robbie Benson, Mike Deibel, Brad Yarger, Susie Clarke, Dickie Harrell, Susan Bolinger and Maria Givens.
Warsaw 7th-grade science club released a balloon May 11, and received a reply from a farmer at Wauseon, Ohio May 17. He said he nearly ran over the balloon with his harrow. Students estimated the balloon traveled approximately 150 miles.

Howard Levin, student at Indiana University, son of Myer Levin, Warsaw, received a medal from the U.S. Government Inspector for being one of the neatest cadets in R.O.T.C. during the first and second semesters. He was among 25 boys.
    Major Carl Beyer, 1917 East Center St., Warsaw, was a member of the 38th division during the World War declared April 6, 1917 and commanded the 113th Supply Train. His car license number is 38-113.
