    PLAINFIELD - Two area police officers will graduate from the basic training course at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, Plainfield.

Deputy Marshall Christopher D. Rager, North Webster Police Dept., and Deputy Jeffrey B. Shaw, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Dept., will both graduate.

    To Lowell "Butch" Walls, it must have felt like he had snagged a full-sized log - which wouldn't have been far from the truth.

What Walls, in fact, did latch on to was a 48-1/2-pound bigmouth buffalo while trolling on Pike Lake in the early evening hours two weeks ago. The Warsaw man has submitted the catch as a state record, surpassing the 47-pound, 2-ounce buffalo that, ironically, also was caught in Kosciusko County by David Hulley of Marion at Tippecanoe Lake.

    Ten Warsaw young women who are to be initiated into the local chapter of Delta Theta Tau are: Penny Hoover, Nanette Pratt, Mrs. Gerald Wallace, Mrs. Ned Maze, Judy Schutz, Carol Sayler, Janice Lambert, Sue Babcock, Mrs. Robert Dormire and Josephine Reiff.

June 27 1933

    Mary Jane Edgar, of North Scott Street of this city, was elected National Clavis editor of the Lambda Chi Omega sorority at the annual convention, which was held in Columbus. Edgar, a member of the local chapter of the sorority, will be in charge of the editing of the national magazine, which is published six times annually. Juanita Fawley was the second delegate from the Warsaw Upsilon chapter, who attended the convention.
