Margaret Tidmore, an eighth-grade National Junior Honor Society member at Edgewood Middle School, received the first community service award for contributing the most service hours among the 18 eighth-grade National Junior Honor Society members. Margaret contributed nearly 100 hours of service to the Warsaw community during the 1997-98 school year.
Winners of Warsaw Community High School spring baseball awards are: Russ Menzie, coach's award; Keith Cummings, leading hitter and most offensive points; Mike White, most valuable player and top pitcher; Tod Ritchison, most improved; and Rick Reneker, captain's award.
Mary Wildman, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Wildman, who lives near Big Chapman Lake, is her school's candidate in the Mermaid Festival queen contest at North Webster. She is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds. She has light brown hair and green eyes. Next year she will begin her junior year at Leesburg High School.
For the highest bowling scores made weekly by both women and men, the Warsaw bowling alley awards a prize. This last week Mary Douglas received the honor of having the highest ladies' score and Ronald Lamb and Robert Minear tied for men's high score.
