 Six students from Warsaw left June 8 for Europe in the People to People Student Ambassador Program. They will visit England, France, Italy and Greece. Those participating are: Josh Gage, freshman; Phillip Swarts, freshman; Tyler Good, eighth grade; Alicia Swank, Jilliam Harrison and Jennifer Weingart, all freshman.

 Tippecanoe Valley School Board members recently accepted the resignation of girls basketball coach Ivan Schuler and named Schuler’s assistant, Duane Burkhart, as his replacement. Burkhart, who teaches history  at the high school, will be in his fifth year in the school system. Burkhart was the head track coach for two seasons and an assistant in the football program as freshman coach for the past two years.

 Mr. and Mrs. Russell Anglin, Warsaw, have returned from a week’s vacation trip along the northern shore of Lake Superior. They also stopped at the Wisconsin Dells. On Sunday afternoon Mrs. Anglin assisted at the reception at the Four County Mental Health Clinic where she is a member of the office staff.

 Several were hurt; hundreds of buildings, including homes and barns, are laid flat; thousands of acres of growing grain are a total loss; livestock in unknown numbers are dead; miles upon miles of telephone and electric poles and wires are snapped and down; highways are under water; orchards destroyed and ruined by a tornado, accompanied by hail and a cloudburst of rain. which swept, tore and twisted its way across the northwest section of Kosciusko County late Friday afternoon.
