Diamonds start out as lumps of coal and are tempered by enormous heat and pressure to become something of great value. Likewise, author J. Robert Boggs believes, some people face great obstacles and difficulties and, through faith, not only survive, but thrive and become inspirations to others. Boggs, 81, has collected stories of these inspirational people for three years and recently published a book, “Black Coal Into Diamonds,” which he says is about those “in spite of” people – “those who never give in, give up, or quit.” His wife, Jodie, puts it this way, “How people went through the fire and how God helped them.”
