Matthew Osbeck, son of Dan and Judy Osbeck, and David Slater, son of Butch and Lori Slater, recently served as pages for Indiana State Rep. Eric Turner at the Capitol in Indianapolis.
Chris Chalfant, a second-grade pupil at North Webster Elementary School, and Jill Bause, a fourth-grader, were the first prize winners in the Humane Society of Kosciusko County's Be Kind To Animals poster contest.
C.G. Cain, of near Etna Green, found interesting reading in a old Warsaw Times-Union that came to light while turning out a truck in the attic. It was an eight-page issue, dated April 21, 1937, with four comic strips. A.B. Sloan was advertising lots on Prospect Hill for $10 and $10 per month, while a six-room house in the 900 block of East Fort Wayne Street was offered for $650.
A party of seven Winona Lake girls spent the afternoon at Little Chapman Lake. They enjoyed swimming and had a steak roast. The young ladies who enjoyed the outing were Esther Bales, Mary and Eva Laurien, Grace Landrith, Grace Collisson, Ruth Newlin and Ethel Ward.
