    Named Most Valuable Player for spring sports at Wawasee High School were: Theresa Lundin (girls tennis), Travis Coy (boys golf), Angie Hoover (softball), Alisha Henderson (girls track) and Ryan Mikel (boys track).

Athletes who recently won blankets at Wawasee High School were: Alsyha Aalbregtse, Carly Beer, Jenny Szynal, Ryan Mikel, Sharada Nethaway, John Hursh and Luke Sawyer.

    While growing up in West Germany, she dreamed that one day she would visit America. Little did she realize that she would one day become a naturalized American citizen.

Residing in the United States for the past 19 years, Ella Jimenez, of Winona Lake, recently became a naturalized American citizen. It was a dream come true.

    A well-known former Warsaw man, Walter "Doc" Evans, 48, of North Manchester, has received a patent on a cake cutter and server.

Evans, who also holds a patent for a roller lifting bar now being manufactured by the Arnolt Corp. of Warsaw, said he conceived the idea for the cutter and server while attending a church banquet about four years ago.

    As a charity project the Warsaw Tri Kappa sorority sponsored 15 tonsil operations during the last few days at the McDonald Hospital. All the operations were performed on the children of needy Warsaw residents.
